On a calm Suffolk evening, the sky turned a soft pink as the sun dipped behind the river . Inspired by this fleeting light, I arranged freesia blooms in a Jackfield antique jug and captured their delicate forms and subtle colors in my painting Fressias in Jackfield.
Painting with gouache, acrylic, and monoprint, I focused on how light dances across the petals, reflecting the warmth of a Suffolk sunset. Each layer brought out the vibrancy of the blooms, while honoring their natural movement and charm.
This painting is currently on display and for sale at Lavender Green Florist in London 🌿. It’s part of my ongoing exploration of floral forms, seasonal tones, and the interplay of light and color in nature.
